GelInspector

Quality control and error reduction
for quantitative blotting techniques

Abstract:

The Matlab program GelInspector has been developed in order to detect correlated blotting errors and to apply suitable error reduction strategies, which have been proposed in Schilling and Maiwald et al, 2005. It is based on experiences and needs of the German HepatoSys project: Systems biology of primary liver cells.

Main Features:

  • Identification of blotting errors
  • Error reduction if possible
  • Merging data from several blotting gels
  • Generation of constrained random sequences for gel loading
  • Visualization of raw and processed measurements and the blotting error
  • Support of different experimental settings on the same gel
